Fantasy Hockey: Daily Goalie Rankings – 03/27/23

Welcome to our Goalie Rankings brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!

Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily.

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals.

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Keep an eye on our Starting Goalies page to ensure the goals listed below are CONFIRMED to start.

Streaming Targets 🎯

There are a couple of streaming options to consider on Monday, but since it’s the start of a crucial week, you don’t want to get stuck behind the 8-ball by making a poor decision on the first night.

Jack Campbell (EDM) is available in 50% of leagues and has the highest-implied win% of any goalie on Monday. However, he’s given up at least four goals on six straight starts (1-1-3) while posting an ugly .850 SV%. Additionally, the Coyotes have played well lately, particularly on home ice. They’ve gone 6-0-1 while averaging 4.1 goals per game in their last seven games at Mullett Arena. The sportsbooks suggest Campbell is a great spot-start, but he comes with obvious risk/downside.

Jonas Johansson (COL) also draws a strong matchup to start the week, facing a Ducks team without Troy Terry. Johansson performed admirably in his first NHL start of the season, stopping 32 of 36 shots in a win in Ottawa on March 16th. He’s also posted a .918 SV% in 25 AHL games this season, so he’s made a case that you might finally be able to trust him. However, he’s also the same goalie with a career .884 SV% in 34 NHL games, so there’s definitely risk, even in a cushy matchup.

Lastly, Eric Comrie (BUF) is coming off of a 26-save shutout against the Islanders on Saturday but allowed 10 goals in the start before that. Overall, he has a 3.72 GAA and .882 SV% on the season, and the Sabres could be without Tage Thompson (upper-body). The Canadiens have played competitively over the last few weeks, so this may not be as good of a matchup as it initially appears.

All three goalies are heavy favourites and good bets to get you a win tonight, but they could all do some damage to your splits in category leagues.
