Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily. 

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals. 

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Casey DeSmith (PIT @ DET) – 21% Rostered

This season has been far from smooth sailing for DeSmith, who has allowed four-plus goals in 11 of his 31 starts (35.5%). However, he’s played much better recently, going 3-2-0 with a 2.07 GAA and .926 SV% in his last six appearances. Tonight he will face a Red Wings team that has lost 12 of their last 15 games (3-11-1) while averaging just 1.92 goals per game, the least in the NHL over that stretch. In addition to their poor offence, Detroit has allowed the fourth-most goals per game, so DeSmith should have plenty of goal support. DeSmith has the highest implied win% (64.5%) and the highest among goalies under 95% rostered.
