Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily.
We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals.

Casey DeSmith (PIT vs. DET) – 12% Rostered
DeSmith is expected to start in the second half of the Penguins’ back-to-back. Since opening the season with a four-game losing streak, DeSmith has gone 4-3-0 with a .921 SV%. Tonight he would face a Red Wings team that has lost nine of their last 12 games while scoring just 2.7 goals per game. DeSmith has the second-highest implied win% (66.0%) and third-lowest implied goals against (2.7) on the slate, making him the top spot-start option.
Adin Hill (VGK @ ANA) – 23% Rostered
With Logan Thompson starting last night, look for Hill to start tonight in Anaheim. Hill started the season on a tear, winning four in a row while allowing just 1.75 goals per game. However, in his last eight games, he’s gone 4-3-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .884 SV% in his last nine appearances. Despite the rough stretch, he faces a Ducks team that is 9-22-4 on the season and averages the second-lowest goals per game (2.28) and fourth-lowest xGF/60 (2.59). Hill has the third-highest implied win% (63.0%) and second-lowest implied goals against (2.6) on the slate.
