Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily. 

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals. 

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (BUF vs. DET) – 10% Rostered

Luukkonen has won his last two starts and four of his last five while stopping 154 of the 168 shots (.917 SV%) that he’s faced. On Thursday, he’ll face a Red Wings team that had an incredible comeback on Wednesday but are still just 23rd in the NHL in xGF/60 (2.95). Most of tonight’s good matchups are being gobbled up by high-owned goalies, so you’ll probably have to settle for Luukkonen, and sixth-highest implied win% (62.6%), and seventh-lowest implied goals against (2.90).

Kaapo Kahkonen (SJS vs. PHI) – 9% Rostered

Kahkonen’s recent results do not compare favourably to Luukkonen’s. He’s gone 1-3-1 with an ugly .841 SV% in his last six outings but draws a better matchup with the Flyers in town. Philadelphia has the third-lowest xGF/60 (2.49) in the NHL this season. Kahkonen has the seventh-best implied win% (60.9%), and ninth-lowest implied goals against (3.00) on the slate.
