Fantasy Hockey: Risers & Fallers (Week 10)

RISERS
Elias Lindholm, C, Calgary Flames (OWNED: 92%)
If you still have intentions of buying low on Lindholm, you better act quickly. In the past six games, he’s tallied three goals and seven points. Yes, it’s a small sample size, but considering what he’s done the past few seasons, this is probably the start of something greater. Jump aboard.
Michael Bunting, LW, Toronto Maple Leafs (OWNED: 54%)
Quietly, the 27-year-old is currently riding an eight-game point streak where he’s tallied one goal and nine helpers for 10 points. Most importantly, Bunting’s been skating with Auston Matthews and William Nylander at even strength. Also, he’s also in a contract year and we all know what that means. Grab him immediately.
Pyotr Kochetkov, G, Carolina Hurricanes (OWNED: 47%)
Unsurprisingly, the rookie netminder has muscled veteran Antti Raanta out of the way for playing time with Frederik Andersen still on the shelf. Kochetkov, who’s appeared in nine of the past 10 games for the Canes, is 6-1-4 with a 2.21 goals-against average and 0.918 save percentage since being recalled from the AHL. Value buy!
Kevin Hayes, C, Philadelphia Flyers (OWNED: 39%)
Over the past 10 games, the 30-year-old has tallied four goals and five helpers and has pretty much been the lone bright spot for a plummeting Philadelphia team. If you’re looking for a Nathan MacKinnon replacement up the middle, I’d take a flier on this Flyer.
Cole Perfetti, C/LW/RW, Winnipeg Jets (OWNED: 30%)
In the past 10 contests, the 20-year-old has racked up three goals and nine points playing predominantly on the top line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. On top of that, Perfetti’s tri position eligible, which depending on your league format, can be a big-time asset to your roster. Take a look.
FALLERS
Alexandar Georgiev, G, Colorado Avalanche (OWNED: 94%)
Coinciding almost directly with Colorado’s rash of injuries, Georgiev has hit a rough patch in recent outings after a red-hot start. Over his past five appearances, the Bulgarian is 1-3-1 with a 3.57 goals-against average and 0.880 save-percentage. Don’t worry, there’s no need to panic just yet. Monitor closely.
Moritz Seider, D, Detroit Red Wings (OWNED: 93%)
The reigning Calder winner has just one point in his past six outings and three in his past nine (one goals, two assists) overall. Additionally, he’s been overtaken by Filip Hronek for PP1 QB duties, which obviously significantly impacts his fantasy value. Be patient, he’ll come around.
Jamie Benn, C/LW, Dallas Stars (OWNED: 79%)
As expected, we’ve seen some regression in Benn’s numbers lately —he has just one goal in the last seven games. In addition to that, he’s been skating on the third line away from the big boys in the top-six. Put him on the trade market and see what you could fetch in return.
Jonathan Quick, G, Los Angeles Kings (OWNED: 69%)
Over his past five outings, the future Hall-of-Famer has surrendered 23 goals. And to be fair, it’s not really his fault. The Kings have been a downright disaster defensively this season. Until they can show some semblance of consistency, I’d fade or bench Quick. That’s all you can do right now to be honest.
Reilly Smith, LW/RW, Vegas Golden Knights (OWNED: 53%)
After an incredible start, the dual eligible winger has tapered off significantly over the past few weeks and is approaching drop territory. Smith has now been held pointless in four straight contests. Sadly, the end could be near. If he heats up again, you can always circle back around down the road.
