Fantasy Hockey: Risers & Fallers (Week 23)

RISERS
Phoenix Copley, G, Los Angeles Kings (OWNED: 52%)
Between Copley and Joonas Korpisalo, the Kings possess arguably the hottest one-two crease punch in the NHL right now. Furthermore, in four appearances thus far in March, the North Pole native’s 3-0-1 with a 1.47 goals-against average and 0.942 save-percentage. Do it up.
Logan Couture, C, San Jose Sharks (OWNED: 47%)
All things considered, it’s been an up and down campaign for the Sharks captain. That said, he’s really started to heat up lately averaging a point per game (four goals, seven assists) over the past 11 games. Think about it.
Alex Killorn, LW/RW, Tampa Bay Lightning (OWNED: 44%)
Make no mistake about it, now’s the time to jump back in on contract year Alex Killorn. The dual-eligible winger has seven goals and 10 points since the trade deadline. At the very least, consider a daily stream here. Simply put, ride the hot hand.
Ryan Hartman, C/RW, Minnesota Wild (OWNED: 43%)
In Minnesota’s absence of Kirill Kaprizov, the C/RW eligible forward has elevated his play substantially over the past little while with two goals and seven points in the past six contests. Lately, Hartman’s been centering Sammy Walker and Mats Zuccarello. Take a flier.
Jakub Vrana, LW, St. Louis Blues (OWNED: 30%)
In seven total outings with his new squad, Vrana is up to five goals and six points. For the most part, he’s been skating on St. Louis’ top-line with Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou as well as the first power play unit. Pick him up ASAP!
Juuso Valimaki, D, Arizona Coyotes (OWNED: 14%)
Over the past four games, the former Flame has racked up one goal and six helpers for seven points. With Jakob Chychrun and Shayne Gostisbehere gone, Valimaki has emerged as Arizona’s No. 1 PP QB. Great value!
Wyatt Johnston, C, Dallas Stars (OWNED: 4%)
The 19-year-old pivot, who now leads all NHL rookies with 20 goals, has scored in four straight games and six of eight. In recent outings, he’s been centering Dallas’ second line alongside Jamie Benn and newcomer Evgenii Dadonov. Have a look.
FALLERS
Kyle Connor, LW, Winnipeg Jets (OWNED: 98%)
If Connor doesn’t figure things out quickly here, the Jets are going to be in even bigger trouble sooner rather than later in the Western Conference standings. The 26-year-old sniper, who’s currently mired in an ugly ten-game goalless drought, has just one goal in the past 14 games for the struggling Jets. Ouch.
Sebastian Aho, C, Carolina Hurricanes (OWNED: 97%)
Mercifully, the Canes captain ended a nasty seven-game pointless drought on Saturday when he erupted for a hat-trick in Carolina’s 5-4 victory over Philadelphia. It goes without saying but the injury to Andrei Svechnikov won’t help Aho’s rest of season fantasy value either. Be mindful.
Evgeny Kuznetsov, C, Washington Capitals (OWNED: 72%)
After a hot start to his season, Kuznetsov has tapered off considerably in the second half almost to the point where he’s beginning to reach drop territory. Over his past 10 outings, he’s notched just one goal and one assist. Of note, due to an undisclosed injury, Kuznetsov left Washington’s game on Sunday against Minnesota. Cut bait.
