Fantasy Hockey: Week 17 Streaming Targets 🎯

Using both our Weekly Schedule tool and the newly created Weekly Strength of Schedule Tool, I have identified which teams are the best to target for streaming players this week.
Below you will find some of the top streaming options for the week under 50 percent owned in Yahoo! fantasy leagues. Streaming a roster spot or two can help you maximize the number of games each week and increase your chances of winning the week.
After an extended Week 16 matchup, Week 17 sees us return to the traditional one-week fantasy format. The fantasy playoffs are approaching quickly and these streaming options might be just what it takes to help you secure a spot in the promise land! Make sure to be cautious of players on Tampa Bay and New Jersey as they only play one game next week.
Alex Tuch – BUF – LW/RW (40% Owned)
Tuch has fit in tremendously in Buffalo and has turned into a multi-category stud in fantasy hockey. In his first 15 games with the Sabres, Tuch has 17 points (6G / 11A), 49 shots, and 16 hits, all while averaging just an eyelash under 20 minutes per game.
Tuch showed flashes of productive play in Vegas but never received the proper deployment to truly be consistent. Look for Tuch to continue producing in all categories in a four-game week for Buffalo.
Jesse Puljujarvi – EDM – RW (36% Owned)
The Edmonton Oilers are the only team that play five games this week and, fresh off their first win under new interim head coach Jay Woodcroft, will be looking to continue their push back into the Western Conference playoff picture.
Puljujarvi took five shots and ended a 14 game goalless drought with a powerplay goal in his return to the top line with Connor McDavid. He has seen tremendous success in the past playing alongside McDavid and will look to get back to their early-season form.
Noah Dobson – NYI – D (30% Owned)
If you’re a Victor Hedman owner or have been relying on Damon Severson while Dougie Hamilton is out, you may need help on the blueline this week. With both teams playing just one game this week, Dobson can help on the blueline. In his last 10 games, Dobson has averaged over 22 TOI/gm while also quarterbacking the top power-play unit. Dobson has turned that into five points (2G / 3A) while firing 3.2 shots on goal per game. The Islanders play three games this week and have the easiest schedule according to our Fantasy Hockey Weekly Strength of Schedule.
Matt Boldy – MIN – LW (22% Owned)
Boldy was mentioned last week as a waiver-wire target and will continue to be mentioned until owned percentage reflects his talent, production, and deployment. He continues to show chemistry playing alongside Kevin Fiala at even-strength and is a regular on a dangerous top powerplay unit in Minnesota.
Boldy has 10 points (4G / 6A) and is averaging 16:08 TOI/gm in his first 12 NHL games. Minnesota has an extremely desirable four-game schedule this week with games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Dylan Strome – CHI – C/RW (15% Owned)
After a tremendous breakout season in 2018-19 with 51 points (17G / 34A) in 58 games, Strome has been largely irrelevant in fantasy hockey. However, thanks in part to regularly centring a line with Patrick Kane and playing on the top powerplay unit, Strome is currently playing some of the best hockey of his career.
In his last 21 games, Strome has 18 points (8G / 10A) and has averaged 16:01 TOI/gm, nearly three minutes above what he was averaging before that. With four games this week, including three games on off nights (Monday, Friday, and Sunday), Strome should be easy to fit into your lineup.
Dennis Gurianov – DAL – LW/RW (13% Owned)
Dallas only plays three games this week but Gurianov could make for a good mid-week streamer with games on Friday and Sunday against Chicago and Arizona. Gurianov has been quietly productive while playing on a line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. In his last 15 games, Gurianov has 13 points (2G / 11A) and has seen a significant 2:31 increase in ice-time over his entire season before that.
