Fantasy Hockey: Week 18 Streaming Targets 🎯

Using both our Weekly Schedule tool and the newly created Weekly Strength of Schedule Tool, I have identified which teams are the best to target for streaming players this week.

Below you will find some of the top streaming options for the week under 50 percent owned in Yahoo! fantasy leagues. Streaming a roster spot or two can help you maximize the number of games each week and increase your chances of winning the week.

Michael Bunting – TOR – LW (32% Owned)

Bunting has been a terrific fit with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. His powerplay time is scarce, but while playing alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner at even-strength, he has managed 14 points (9G / 5A) over his last 16 games. As long as he continues to play on that top line, there is no reason to believe he can’t continue to produce for the remainder of the season. The Maple Leafs have a very desirable schedule this week and look poised to score often, so don’t hesitate to add Bunting.

Valeri Nichushkin – LW/RW – COL (29% Owned)

Nichushkin is playing with a lot of confidence this season and is on pace to eclipse career-bests in goals and points set in his rookie season. Playing primarily on a line with Nazem Kadri and Andrei Burakovsky, Nichushkin has 26 points (13G / 13A) in 33 games and is averaging more than two shots per game (2.8) for the first time in his career. The four-game schedule for the Avalanche this week makes Nichushkin a very attractive streaming option.

Robert Thomas – C/RW – STL (27% Owned)

Thomas was mentioned last week as a waiver-wire target and has continued to play as advertised since then. Thomas is up to 39 points (7G / 32A) in 42 games this season and has registered an uncharacteristically high 11 shots on goal over his last three games. If line-mate Vladimir Tarasenko (undisclosed) is set to miss extended time, it could hurt Thomas’ value in the long term. That being said, the Blues have three games this week, all against non-playoff teams, so expect Thomas to rack up some assists.

Jordan Staal – C – CAR (21% Owned)

Staal is on pace for his lowest full-season point total (27 points) but has seen an uptick in his production of late, registering four points (1G / 3A) in his last five games. While his production is down, Staal is averaging a career-best 3.2 hits per game and certainly carries more value in leagues where that is relevant. The Hurricanes have a very nice Monday-Friday-Sunday schedule, including games against Philadelphia and Columbus.

Josh Morrissey – D – WPG (42% Owned)

The Winnipeg Jets have a difficult schedule next week with games against Calgary, Dallas, and Colorado, before ending the week with a game in Arizona. The Jets could be hard-pressed for offence but find themselves with a perfect Monday-Wednesday-Friday-Sunday schedule that should leave you no problem fitting players into a full lineup.

Over his last 11 games, Morrissey is averaging over 25 minutes per night and has taken over top powerplay duties, putting up six points (1G / 6A), including five on the powerplay. Morrissey has added value in hits leagues, averaging over two hits per game on the season.

Paul Stastny – C/LW – WPG (6% Owned)

As mentioned above, the Jets’ schedule is some cause for concern so a Stastny stream should be restricted to managers that are looking to guarantee four games played. Stastny has points in two of his last three games (1G / 1A) and is playing on a line with the ultra-hot Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele.
