The Florida Panthers have bolstered their goaltending ranks, signing veteran NHL netminder Louis Domingue to a one-year, two-way contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The 33-year-old has not played regularly this season, posting a 3-3-0 record in six AHL games with the Charlotte Checkers, the Panthers’ top minor league affiliate, after playing 11 games with Novosibirsk Sibir in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League.

Through his career, the six-foot-three netminder has played 144 career NHL games, spending time with the Arizona Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and most recently the New York Rangers. In those contests, he has a 61-60-10 and a save percentage of 9.06.

Outside the NHL, he has also played 233 AHL games, posting a similar save percentage of .905 across eight different clubs. Since entering professional hockey in 2012, Domingue has suited up for 17 teams across the NHL, AHL, ECHL and KHL.

Prior to his professional career, he played four seasons for the Moncton Wildcats and Québec Remparts in the QMJHL, leading to his fifth-round selection as 138th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Draft and for two seasons beyond.

Through his six AHL games this season, Domingue found himself in a rare goalie fight, as he squared off with Will Cranley in a matchup against the Springfield Thunderbirds, the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues

With the Panthers, Domingue becomes the third goalie signed to an NHL contract alongside veteran star netminder Sergei Bobrovsky and Daniil Tarasov, with the former among those peddled as potential trade pieces ahead of Friday’s NHL Trade Deadline.

Sitting last in the Atlantic Division with just 21 games to go to close the gap on a Stanley Cup Playoff spot, the Panthers return to action on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
