The Florida Panthers have invited forward Noah Gregor to attend their training camp on a professional tryout opportunity, according to Daily Faceoff show host (and Noah’s uncle) Jason Gregor.

Gregor, 27, split the 2024-25 season between the Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks, collecting four goals and seven points in 52 games. The Beaumont, Alberta product is a left winger who stands 6′ and weighs 201 pounds.

A fourth-round pick (No. 111 overall) of the Sharks in the 2016 NHL Draft, Gregor made his NHL debut with San Jose in the 2019-20 season. He spent four years in the Sharks organization to begin his professional career.

Non-tendered as a pending RFA by the Sharks in 2023, Gregor signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs as an unrestricted free agent for the 2023-24 season. He skated in 63 games with the Leafs that season, collecting six goals and 12 points; he also dressed for two playoff games with the club that spring.

After starting the following season with the Senators, Gregor returned to the Sharks at the trade deadline after being included in a deal which saw Fabian Zetterlund, Tristen Robins, and a fourth-round pick head to Ottawa in exchange for Zack Ostapchuk, Gregor, and a second-round pick. Gregor appeared in 12 games with the Sharks to finish the season.

Through 293 career NHL games over parts of six seasons with the Sharks, Leafs, and Senators, Gregor has collected 36 goals and 70 points. He’ll now be tasked with cracking a Panthers lineup that ranks among the deepest in the National Hockey League, having won the Stanley Cup in each of the last two seasons.

Most of the Panthers’ key bottom-six contributors from last year will return in 2025-26, including Eetu Luostarinen, Jesper Boqvist, A.J. Greer, Tomas Nosek, and Jonah Gadjovich. The Panthers did make one notable addition to that group last month, signing veteran center Luke Kunin to a one-year contract.
