With a 6-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final Monday night, Florida Panthers’ Head Coach Paul Maurice became just the third bench boss in NHL history to record 1,000 combined regular-season and playoff victories.

The 58-year-old Maurice joins exclusive company, as only Hall of Fame coach Scotty Bowman (1,467) and Anaheim Ducks’ Head Coach Joel Quenneville (1,090) are the only ones to reach the 1,000-win mark.

Earlier in the 2024-25 season, Maurice moved into third on the NHL’s all-time regular-season wins list. The two coaches ahead of Maurice are Bowman and Quenneville, who have 1,244 and 969 wins, respectively.

Maurice, a veteran coach of more than 2,000 combined regular season and playoff games, has found his sweet spot with the Panthers. In three seasons, the 58-year-old has a 141-87-18 record in the regular season, along with a 41-21 mark in the playoffs. Maurice has led Florida to three consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances.

In 1,930 career games, has a 916-767-99 record with the Panthers, Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Hartford Whalers. He has also compiled an 84-73 record in the playoffs.

In 2024-25, the Panthers went 47-31-4 with 98 points, third in the Atlantic Division. They eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Maple Leafs then the Hurricanes through the first three rounds of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
