Former NHL’er Jimmy Hayes dies at 31

Former NHL’er Jimmy Hayes has died at 31 years old.
According to the Boston Globe, first responders were called to his home in Milton, Mass. where he was pronounced dead. His death is not considered suspicious, the Globe reported, and his cause of death was not immediately available.
A native of Dorchester, Mass., Hayes was drafted in the second round of the 2008 draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He appeared in 334 games over seven NHL seasons most recently with the New Jersey Devils in 2017.
Hayes was a part of the NCAA’s Boston College team that won a national championship in 2009-10.
He leave behind a wife, Kristen, and two sons — Beau, 5, and Mac, who was born on May 5th.
