Golden Knights continue to show why they’re a serious title contender

After 11 games this season, the Vegas Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division with a 7-3-1 record. They’ve scored an NHL-leading 50 goals so far this year and have once again put the rest of the league on notice that they’re going to a tough team to beat out of the Western Conference.
The Golden Knights have been led by captain Mark Stone, who has come out of the gates flying this season, recording 19 points through his first 11 contests. Meanwhile, Jack Eichel has just three goals so far, but has been a play-making machine, posting 13 assists on the year.
In goal, the duo of Adin Hill and Ilya Samsonov have split time this season, with Hill leading the tandem with four wins, however Samsonov’s underlying numbers are slightly better, tallying a 2.95 goals against average and .906 save percentage. The Golden Knights are a perfect 7-0-0 on home ice and despite their lead in the division, are still looking for their first win on the road.
On Thursday’s Trick-or-Treat episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli discussed the Golden Knights start and the chances we see Vegas go on another deep Stanley Cup Playoff run.
Yaremchuk: Let’s talk about some of ‘The Treats’ Frank, and for your pick just based on the picture on the bottom of our screen, you’re staying in the Pacific?
Seravalli: Yeah, I think the Vegas Golden Knights are a really good hockey team. And, I know that their season last year was a roller-coaster ride, it was up-and-down and all over the place. But, they can score, they can defend, they got the makings of that core locked up, especially Noah Hanifin, Shea Theodore and Alex Pietrangelo for the foreseeable future.
I think their goaltending is arguably one of the best value tandems in the league. I think this team, maybe they’re not scoring at 4.5 goals per game for the entire season, but, I think they’ve been a treat to this point. I think they are really close to being in that, if they’re not already, that inner-circle of contenders. I think they’re a true team to be reckoned with when it comes to the playoffs. I like everything I’ve seen from Vegas to this point.
