Flyers’ start raises eyebrows on John Tortorella’s job security

After dropping last night’s game 6-3 to the Washington Capitals, the Philadelphia Flyers are now 1-5-1 to start the 2024-25 campaign.
Since joining the Flyers as bench boss in 2022-23, Tortorella has led the Flyers to a 70-76-25 record.
Today on Daily Faceoff LIVE, hosts Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed whether or not Flyers head coach John Tortorella has lost the room.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Is there locker room panic in Philly, Frank?
Frank Seravalli: It’s not pretty. I’ll tell you that. It’s a 1- 5- 1 record. There was a tweet from Jackie Spiegel, who covers the Flyers for the Philadelphia Inquirer last night, saying that Nick Seeler and John Tortorella were jawing at each other on the bench during a TV timeout. That’s not a good sign. And not saying that players, you know, friction’s bad or unhealthy or anything like that, but this is year three of the John Tortorella experience, and this is typically when things start to go the other way if you don’t find results and success.
Frank Seravalli: For a team that exceeded expectations, and was an 80-plus point team last season, you add some young players, including one that we’ll talk about in a minute, Jett Luchanko. But with Matvei Michkov getting seven games, you’d expect to see some more results. And this team has been more or less a sloppy mess to start this year.
