Hjalmarsson suspended two games for hit from behind

Chicago Blackhawks’ defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson will be suspended for two games after delivering a hasty check-from-behind to Buffalo Sabres’ right wing Jason Pominville. Although not known to be a dirty player, Hjalmarsson deserved this suspension for the sheer boneheadedness of the play.
Pominville has been ruled out with a concussion, ending his consecutive game streak of over 250 games.
Through his first three games, the 23-year-old blue-liner has put together 15 PIM (for the hit) and a -4 rating. If you own him in a deeper league, he should improve his numbers as the team improves but riding the hot hand may be of greater value in the long run.
