Hockey Canada unveils new jersey for 2026-27 season

Hockey Canada has unveiled a new look for the 2026-27 international hockey season, bringing back the traditional national team logo for the first time in close to half a decade.

The organization has confirmed it will be used in competition, and will be available for purchase later this fall.

The prominently red look features a maple leaf outline on both arms surrounded by an array of black dots up to the top of the uniform. With the traditional Hockey Canada logo on the front, the jersey essentially has a maple leaf visible all throughout the front of the jersey, no matter the angle.

Hockey Canada teams participating in IIHF events over the past few years have used a red and white look with a big maple leaf on the front – but not the Hockey Canada logo. That was last used four years ago on the red, white and black jerseys the team wore throughout most major international events.

Hockey Canada has used standard Nike-branded jerseys for IIHF tournaments such as the World Juniors and World Championship in the past. For non-IIHF tournaments, such as exhibition games and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Hockey Canada has used the red and white jerseys they have typically worn, but with Bauer sponsorship. Bauer and Hockey Canada announced an eight-year partnership extension back in December of 2025.

The next major Hockey Canada event is the U-17 World Challenge in Oakville, Ontario, taking place from Nov. 1-7. The women’s national team will head to Denmark that month, taking part in the IIHF Women’s World Championship from Nov. 6-16. The organization will also host the 2026 Para Cup in Paradise, Newfoundland, as well as the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.

Canada failed to win gold at any major international hockey event in 2025-26, outside of the U-17s (a tournament Hockey Canada hosts, and enters two teams).
