How concerned should the Golden Knights be amid recent slump?

The reigning Stanley Cup Champions might be in line to clinch a playoff spot, but they have have some signs that are leaving some concerned.
Following a 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, who were without star captain Connor McDavid, on Wednesday night, the Vegas Golden Knights have lost each of their last three games, and have yet to clinch a playoff berth.
With the fact that this team had such a good start to the regular season, and went hard at the NHL Trade Deadline in order to ensure they have a chance to go back-to-back, it is a little concerning that they are simply just trying to get into the playoffs.
The Golden Knights currently hold the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, three points ahead of the St. Louis Blues. Vegas also has a game in hand on the Blues.
On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk explain whether or not the Golden Knights’ recent skid is concerning this close to the end of the regular season.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Adin Hill has been, not just average, but below average for awhile now.
Frank Seravalli: It’s been so up and down for them in terms of a roller coaster. Before this three-game slide, we had talked about for a five-week time this team has been playing a lot better, and finally starting to get results. You don’t have to rewind very far to 10 days ago for you and I to be sitting on this show saying: no one really wants to be playing the Vegas Golden Knights in round one.
To me, they were the ultimate threat going into round one as potentially a Wild Card team. Now, I’m looking at them saying, are they? What are the Vegas Golden Knights? Where is the back pressure? Where is the attention to detail? Where is the goaltending that we have come to expect from this team? Maybe outside of Detroit, I don’t know that one team has had a more strange regular season than the Golden Knights.
