How many more scoring titles will Connor McDavid win?

The 2025-26 NHL regular season has drawn to a close, and Edmonton Oilers star forward Connor McDavid has topped the scoring charts once again, capturing his sixth career Art Ross Trophy with 48 goals and 90 assists for 128 points in all 82 games.
Yet, as dominant as McDavid has been, how much longer can he last at the top of the scoring race? He has a decade of experience in the NHL, but with Nikita Kucherov and Nathan MacKinnon still producing and the younger likes of Macklin Celebrini and others challenging from the next generation, McDavid’s time at the top may be waning.
On a recent episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, co-hosts Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton broke down how many more Art Ross trophies McDavid could win and whether he could win 10 NHL scoring titles, as Wayne Gretzky did.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Connor McDavid with his sixth career scoring title that ties him for the second most all-time in NHL history and puts him four back of Wayne Gretzky. How many more scoring titles will McDavid win in his career?
Carter Hutton: I’m going to go two more just because of who he is and the fact that there’s going to be no holds barred to try to get him more offensive support to help him score. He’s still in a window where his team will win.
I think Celebrini, Bedard and everybody else. There is some really good players that are going to obviously contend with that, but I’m going to go two more because I still watch him this year at the Olympics, and the way he does everything, he’s still the best in the world, none of those other guys are close, and I just feel that Edmonton is still pushing to try to win.
Tyler Yaremchuk: I’m going to say three more. I don’t think he’s catching Gretzky at 10. I think that’s just a little bit of a stretch, but you’re bang on that McDavid is showing no signs of slowing down.
