Hurricanes sign Andrei Svechnikov to eight-year deal worth $7,750,000 annually

One of this summer’s major restricted free agents has reached a long-term contract.
According to Frank Seravalli, @Andrei Svechnikov and the Carolina Hurricanes have come to terms on an eight-year contract worth $7,750,000 annually.
#Canes announce $62 million extension for Andrei Svechnikov: 8 x $7.75 million.
Svechnikov was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 draft. He broke into the NHL as an 18-year-old and scored 20 goals and 37 points with the Hurricanes in his rookie season. All told, through three seasons, he’s scored 59 goals and 140 points over the course of 205 games.
There are still plenty of restricted free agents left without deals. 2021 Calder Trophy winner @Kirill Kaprizov remains unsigned, as do former top picks @Quinn Hughes, @Elias Pettersson, @Rasmus Dahlin, and @Brady Tkachuk.
