Ilya Kovalchuk Back on the Market

The news is short and sweet: Ilya Kovalchuk returns to the open market after an arbitrator upheld the league’s decision.

We were not incredibly bullish on Kovalchuk playing in New Jersey but it would be much better than the KHL. Kovalchuk wanted to play with the Devils and likely will sign another contract that does not circumvent the salary cap.
