Roslovic has been a perfect fit for the Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are in the midst of one of their typical slow starts to a season, sitting outside the Western Conference playoff picture with a record of 10-9-5.
Unlike in past years, there is not a clear reason to believe that the Oilers are destined to immediately snap out of it and revert back to their dominant ways, but there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Edmonton won’t sit this far down in the standings for much longer.
One such reason for that is the play of Jack Roslovic, who was signed out of free agency on October 9 after sitting available all summer following a solid season as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes that saw him put up 39 points in 81 games.
Roslovic has fit like a glove on the wing of both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid at times, and he’s racked up 17 points in his first 22 games with Edmonton, putting him on pace to shatter his career-best marks in goals and points if he can stay on track.
On Monday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, host Tyler Yaremchuk and co-host and former NHL goalie Carter Hutton discussed the instant impact that Roslovic has made as a scoring option for his new team.
Tyler Yaremchuk: The Daily Faceoff roundtable question that was up this weekend at DailyFaceoff.com was based around the question of, “Who are the players or teams that have you believing in them more than you did at the start of the season?” I think there were a couple of really interesting answers I wanted to throw out there. First up, how about what Jack Roslovic is doing for the Edmonton Oilers here? Seven even-strength goals. Hutts, that’s tied for the team lead. He’s scored more even-strength goals this season than Leon Draisaitl. He has just as many as Connor McDavid.
Carter Hutton: You know what I like about this? The fact that they’ve tried different situations… I felt Jeff Skinner might have been this fit last year. A guy that knows how to score, he goes to the net, and it just never really worked in that dynamic. Roslovic, he’s fitting in so well with Leon. It’s so important. He’s a shooter; he’s always prepared to release the puck… This is a good fit.
