Fiala was originally selected with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2014 draft by the Nashville Predators. He played five seasons with the Predators organization and was dealt to Minnesota in 2019 in exchange for @Mikael Granlund.
In his first full season with the Wild in 2019-20, Fiala scored 23 goals and set a career-high with 54 points. He had another strong season in 2021, scoring 20 goals and 40 points over 50 games.
Fiala will again be a restricted free agent next summer with one more year left of control before he can hit the open market.
