The trade deadline has passed, which now means everyone’s rosters are set for the final stretch towards the playoffs.

While we’re still far from the point of clinching scenarios, there are still some important games with plenty on the line for both teams every day.

Let’s break down the best games to watch on a light Wednesday, March 11th:

Marquee matchup: Montreal Canadiens at Ottawa Senators

7:30 p.m. ET
An all-Canadian matchup is always an entertaining one, but it’s even more so when the playoffs are at stake – especially against each other. The Senators are five points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand, so every point matters in their climb back into the playoff picture. Meanwhile, the Canadiens are looking to stick around in the top three of the Atlantic Division, as they are just one point ahead of the Detroit Red Wings and two ahead of the Boston Bruins, albeit with games in hand on both teams.

The Habs aren’t just looking to keep ahead of those trailing them either; they’re looking to secure home-ice advantage. To do so, they need to catch the Buffalo Sabres (six points ahead) or the Tampa Bay Lightning (two points ahead). A win on Wednesday would certainly help them in that race.

Other game(s) of note

Washington Capitals (71 PTS, seven out of playoffs) at Philadelphia Flyers (69 PTS, nine out of playoffs)

7:30 p.m. ET
The Capitals and Flyers are hovering around in no-man’s land. They’re close but not close enough to a playoff spot, and they’re nearly 10 points ahead of the teams contending for a top-five pick. The stakes are about as low as they can possibly be here, but perhaps a win tonight can keep one of these teams’ playoff hopes on life support.
