Kings and Adrian Kempe reportedly agree to a four-year contract

The Los Angeles Kings and Adrian Kempe have agreed to a four-year contract, according to Pierre LeBrun.
Hearing that the Kings have agreed to a four year deal with Adrian Kempe. Sounds like the official announcement to come Saturday.
There’s no word yet on the money involved with the contract and LeBrus says that it’ll be made official on Saturday.
Kings was a restricted free agent this summer and Rob Blake said earlier this week that getting him signed “right away” was one of the organization’s top priorities.
The Kings selected Kempe with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2016-17 with two goals and six points in 25 games and developed into a quality depth scorer after that.
This season was Kempe’s breakout as a high-level sniper. Kempe scored 35 goals over the course of 78 games in 2021-22, more than doubling his previous career-high of 16 goals set in 2017-18. Kempe also added two goals and six points in seven games for the Kings in the playoffs this spring.
Kempe inked a three-year deal worth $2 million annually in September of 2019 following the expiration of his entry-level contract. This four-year contract eats up the final year of control that the Kings have of Kempe along with three unrestricted free agency years.
