Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux has been suspended for five games for biting Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, the league announced late Tuesday.
“This is not a hockey play,” the league said in its player safety decision video. “This is a player delivering a forceful, intentional, and potentially dangerous bite to the bare hand of another player with sufficient force to puncture the skin. Such actions will not be tolerated.”
Tkachuk was extremely vocal in voicing his displeasure and disgust over Lemieux’s actions.
