Kings prospect Carter George scores second career goal in OHL game

Los Angeles Kings goaltending prospect Carter George scored a goal Wednesday night for the Soo Greyhounds over the London Knights, becoming the first goalie in Ontario Hockey League history to score two career goals.

The Greyhounds were up 3-2 when the Knights pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker. When London dumped the puck into the Soo end, George played it from behind his net, firing it down the ice and into the Knights’ empty cage.

The Thunder Bay, Ont., native scored his first-career OHL goal as a member of the Owen Sound Attack against the Peterborough Petes in November 2024.

George, who was acquired by the Greyhounds in a trade with the Attack on Jan. 7, won a bronze medal with Canada at the 2026 World Junior Championship earlier this month. In four games with the Soo, he has a 4-0-0 record with a .947 save percentage (SV%) and 1.25 goals against average (GAA).

Through 139 career regular-season games with the Greyhounds and Attack, George is 61-55-14 with a .909 SV% and 3.17 GAA.

George was taken by the Kings in the second round (No. 57 overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Los Angeles in July 2024, paying him an annual average value of $875,000 through 2026-27.
