Pederson has been a perennial American Hockey League center for most of his professional career. He’s coming off a one-year, two-way contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, which had an NHL cap hit of $775,000 and a minor-league salary of $500,000, with a guaranteed salary of $525,000.
He ended up appearing in five games with the big club in January, but didn’t register a point while averaging less than nine minutes of ice time per game. The 28-year-old had another productive season in the ‘A’ with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Flyers’ primary affiliate. In 63 games, he matched his career-high of 23 goals, posting 25 assists for 48 points, leading the Phantoms in scoring. It was the third time in his AHL career that he reached the 40-point mark, though he came short of his 52-point campaign in 2023-24 with the Bakersfield Condors, the Edmonton Oilers’ top farm team.
Across four NHL seasons, Pederson has made stops with the Arizona Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, and Columbus Blue Jackets. The Saskatoon native has appeared in 76 regular-season games, scoring four goals and seven assists for 11 points. In 374 regular-season contests in the AHL, he has scored 134 goals and 144 assists for 278 points, with another five points in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games.
