Mammoth sign Gregor Biber to entry-level contract

A promising young blueliner has inked his first NHL contract.
On Thursday, the Utah Mammoth announced that the team has signed defenseman Gregor Biber to a three-year, entry-level contract, set to begin next season.
Mammoth general manager Bill Armstrong noted how much Biber has progressed in the European game and is intrigued to see how his development will continue within the organization.
“Gregor is a talented defenseman who played very well in the Swedish Hockey League this past season,” Armstrong said. “We are excited to continue to watch him progress in our system.”
Biber was taken by the Mammoth in the fourth round, 88th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft – the team’s first-ever draft under the Utah moniker. While his offensive numbers won’t excite the naked eye, his play in his own zone has made him a notable prospect. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing close to 200 pounds, the 19-year-old still has room to grow, physically, to make him an even better asset in his own zone.
The Krems, Austria native has spent the past two years mostly with Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League. This past season, he posted 1 goal and 1 assist in 38 regular-season games, with a plus/minus of -2. He didn’t register a point in 15 postseason games, as Rögle made it to the finals before losing to Skellefteå AIK in five games.
In 88 career games in the SHL, Biber posted three goals and two assists for five points.
On top of his pro career, Biber has represented his country for several years. He has been part of the Austrian National Junior Team in each of the past three IIHF D1A World Junior Championships, as well as playing in the 2025 and 2026 IIHF Men’s World Championships.
