UPDATE! March 25th – Fantasy Hockey Goalie Rankings

There are 10 games in the NHL tonight and with the playoff race heating up, almost every game on the schedule has serious playoff implications. Ryan Miller has had his way with the Maple Leafs in his Sabres career, he will look to continue that tonight in Toronto. The Red Wings and Blue Jackets, who are separated by just two points, will do battle in Columbus. Lastly, the Stars, Capitals and Coyotes are all right in the thick of the playoff battle, but each team faces teams well above them in the standings, it will not be easy for any of those three to come away with two points. Below are my Fantasy Hockey goalie rankings for this busy NHL night. If you don’t know which goalies to start, start the ones ranked the highest! Good luck as always and enjoy a great night of puck.

1. Carey Price (vs. BUF) – Price’s GAA (3.28) and SV% (.906) have not been pretty since returning from a lower-body injury, but he has won three of the four starts and tonight faces the lowly Sabres. Struggles or No Struggles, you start the Olympic Gold medalist vs. Buffalo.
2. Ryan Miller (@ TOR) – Something about the Maple Leafs brings the best out of Ryan Miller. He has gone 2-0-2 with a 2.17 GAA and .925 SV% against them this season, and he did so while playing for the above mentioned awful Sabres.
3. Semyon Varlamov (@ NSH) – Varlamov continues to roll as he hopes to earn himself Vezina Trophy honours at season’s end. Lately, he has won three of five with a 2.68 GAA and .927 SV%. Nashville is not known for the high-powered offence, so Varly should not be scooping too many pucks out of his net tonight.
4. Antti Niemi (@ EDM) – Niemi has gone 6-1-1 with a 1.86 GAA and .931 SV% in March and tonight he faces an Oilers team in disarray after being hammered 8-1 by the Flames on the weekend.
5. Jonathan Quick (@ WSH) – Quick has won each of his last three starts with a 0.97 GAA and .962 SV%. This is the third time that he has started both games of the back-to-back. He is 0-2 in the second game of back-to-backs this season.
6. Sergei Bobrovsky (vs. DET) – Bobrovsky is 1-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .958 SV% vs. Detroit this season and has gone 7-4-1 in March. He has not given you any reason not to trust him in the fantasy playoffs.
7. Cam Ward (vs. NYI) –  Ward’s season has started to take a turn for the better, having won three of his last four starts with a 2.50 GAA and .920 SV%. Tonight, he faces a banged up Isles team who are starting a goalie with a GAA well above 3.00.
8. Jaroslav Halak (vs. LA) – Halak is 4-2-1 with a 2.13 GAA and .935 SV% with the Capitals. Tonight, he faces a Kings team he just 27 of 28 shots against five days ago.
9. Corey Crawford (vs. DAL) – Crawford is 6-3-0 with a 1.57 GAA and .934 SV% in March and takes on a Stars team he has already beaten twice.
10. Marc-Andre Fleury (vs. PHX) – The Flower has lost his last four starts while giving up 13 goals on 112 shots (.884 SV%). The Pens are without Evgeni Malkin tonight, so his goal support is surely to take a hit.
11. Jimmy Howard (@ CBJ) – Howard has improved his play dramatically as of late. However, the lineup in front of him is still really inexperienced and have struggled to keep the puck out of the net in the third period all season.
12. Jonathan Bernier (vs. STL) – Bernier is 25-16-7 with a 2.61 GAA and .925 SV% this season and that is well deserving of being ranked higher than 11th. But proceed with caution here. He is a game-time decision and even if he plays it will be his first game back and it is against the Western Conferences best team.
13. Roberto Luongo (vs. OTT) – Lu has gone 3-4-1 with a 2.62 GAA and .919 SV% since arriving in Florida and takes on a slumping Senators team. However, the guys above him are good goalies as well, on much better teams.
14. Ben Scrivens (vs. SJ) – Scrivens stopped ALL 59 shots that he faced the last time he met the Sharks. If you think that can happen again, by all means start him. I am just a little more skeptical.
15. Robin Lehner (@ FLA) – Lehner finally got back into the W column last night, and draws a good matchup tonight, but his 4.07 GAA in his last six starts is alarming.
16. Thomas Greiss (vs. PIT) – Greiss did not look comfortable after replacing Mike Smith last night, and while you could say he was cold, he faces Sidney Crosby tonight on a back-to-back, that’s frightening.
17. Matt Hackett (@ MTL) – It is Hackett’s second start with the Sabres… I probably lost you at Sabres, but in the fantasy playoffs are you really thinking about starting him in hostile Montreal.
18. Anders Nilsson (@ CAR) – If you like 3.50 GAA’s and .880 SV%’s then Nilsson is your man.
