Mark Stone Reportedly Won’t Need Surgery

The Vegas Golden Knights got some good news on the injury front on Tuesday.
According to Steve Carp of Vegas Hockey Now, head coach Peter DeBoer said that Mark Stone is somewhere between day-to-day and week-to-week and that the Golden Knights’ captain won’t require surgery…
Stone update: no surgery required. PDB says somewhere between day to day and week to week more: status. “No surgery is certainly good news.”
The Golden Knights lost both Stone and Max Pacioretty, two-thirds of their top line, to injury in their 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. While the news on Stone is positive, Vegas will be without Pacioretty for multiple weeks as he suffered a broken foot.
We don’t know anything else about Stone’s injury other than it being his lower body and that it won’t require surgery.
Vegas is 1-1-0 so far this season and they’ll be facing an uphill climb without Stone and Pacioretty for the next little while. The two of them finished first and second on the Golden Knights in scoring in 2021 and are currently tied for the team lead with three points in two games in 2021-22.
