Max Domi reportedly won’t be Seattle’s selection from the Blue Jackets

Max Domi will remain a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets for now.
According to Frank Seravalli, defenceman Gavin Bayreuther will be the Seattle Kraken’s pick from Columbus.
Mild surprise from #CBJ. The pick is not Max Domi. #SeaKraken will be selecting D Gavin Bayreuther from Columbus. @DFOHockey
Domi was acquired by the Blue Jackets last off-season from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for @Josh Anderson. In his first season in Columbus, Domi scored nine goals and 24 points over 54 games, much lower than the 17 and 28 goals he scored in 2019-20 and 2018-19 with the Habs.
@Gavin Bayreuther is certainly a name out of left field.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Stars back in 2017. He appeared in 19 games for the Stars over parts of three seasons with the organization. Last off-season, he inked a one-year deal with Columbus and played in nine games for the Blue Jackets. Bayreuther was very effective for Columbus’ AHL affiliate, putting up 12 points over 14 games.
