Frost re-sign Kendall Coyne Schofield to two-year contract

The Minnesota Frost announced Monday they have re-signed Kendall Coyne Schofield to a two-year contract through the 2027-28 season.

Coyne Schofield, 34, scored 12 goals and added 11 assists for 23 points in 23 games last season. Through three PWHL seasons, she’s recorded 30 goals and 33 assists for 63 points in 77 career regular-season games. She is tied for third on the PWHL’s all-time scoring list.

Coyne Schofield also scored four goals and added six assists for 10 points in 23 career PWHL playoff games. She helped the Frost win two Walter Cup Playoff championships in 2024 and 2025.

“My first three seasons in Minnesota have been unforgettable for my family and me,” said Coyne Schofield. “We’re thrilled to be back for the next two seasons and can’t wait to return for Season Four. I’m ready to put in the work to bring the Walter Cup back to Minnesota.”

The Palos Heights, Ill., native also spent five seasons playing college hockey with Northeastern University. In five NCAA seasons, she scored 141 goals and added 108 assists for 249 points in 133 career games. She won the 2016 Patty Kazmaier Award and is Northeastern’s all-time goals leader.

Internationally, she’s won two Olympic gold medals, two Olympic silver medals and seven World Championship gold medals.

On his top 25 players heading into 2026-27, Daily Faceoff’s Tyler Kuehl put Coyne Schofield on his honorable mention list, but only due to her contract situation.

“If she were under contract, Coyne Schofield would easily be on this list,” Kuehl wrote.

Other Frost players who made the list include Grace Zumwinkle, Kelly Pannek and Taylor Heise, the latter of which he ranked as the No. 1 player in the league.
