The 23-year-old O’Donohoe began the season on Minnesota’s reserve player list. She spent five seasons at Colgate University, scoring 54 goals and 72 assists for 126 points in 179 games, which stands seventh all-time in school history.
Before joining the Frost, O’Donohoe made her professional debut with the SDHL’s Brynas IF, scoring two goals and five assists for seven points in 14 games.
“Kaitlyn had been playing in the SDHL prior to attending our training camp this fall, and that experience alone made her a great addition to our reserve group,” Frost General Manager Melissa Caruso said. “She plays fast, is a tremendous athlete, and has a track record of success in college. Her tools and background give us confidence that she can step in and help our team. We are excited to give her an opportunity to showcase her skills in the PWHL.”
The Frost face the Montreal Victoire Saturday afternoon at Xcel Energy Center. Going into the weekend, Minnesota is first in the league with a 5-0-1 record and 12 points. Defender Claire Thompson leads the team with seven points (one goal, six assists) while teammates Kendall Coyne Schofield and Taylor Heise each have six points.
Saturday’s game will be their last of 2024, as the club will get a five-day break before hosting the Boston Fleet on Jan. 2.
