The Minnesota Wild will be down yet another forward due to an injury, as rookie Danila Yurov will miss Tuesday night’s game on the road against the Edmonton Oilers and is out on a day-to-day basis, head coach John Hynes told The Athletic’s Michael Russo.

According to Russo, the injury stems from a play that forced Yurov out of action in last Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime win over Chicago, though he played in the subsequent contests on Friday and Saturday.

Yurov, the team’s first-round pick at No. 24 overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, has seven points (three goals and four assists) in the 21 games he’s played this season which comprise his first taste of NHL action.

Yurov has plenty of professional experience, as he spent his three seasons prior to this one with the KHL’s Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In his last pro campaign in Russia, he put up 25 points in 46 games played.

The Wild have been one of the more banged-up teams in a season that so far has been riddled with injuries throughout the league. The team is currently without forwards Marcus Foligno, Marco Rossi and Vinnie Hinostroza, all of whom are currently on injured reserve.

Veteran winger Mats Zuccarello also missed a sizable chunk of the start of the season, though he has been excellent with 10 points in 11 games since he returned to the lineup.

Despite a lack of continuity among the team’s forward ranks, Minnesota has put together a hot streak that has vaulted them all the way to third place in the Central Division with a record of 14-7-5 after a dreadful October had them

The Wild have gone 8-0-2 in their past 10 games, and they’ll look to continue their point streak against the Oilers on Thursday. After its visit to Edmonton, Minnesota will continue its Western Canada road trip with stops in Calgary and Vancouver to wrap up the week.
