Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman has been fined $4,427.08, the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement for high-sticking Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti.



The incident happened as Hartman and Perfetti lined up at the faceoff dot, Hartman’s stick came up and caught Perfetti in the face. Hartman was not penalized on the play.

The 29-year-old has 11 goals and 17 points in 30 games this season while averaging 15:50 minutes of ice time. He is coming off a 37-point season last year and is two years removed from a 34-goal and 65-point campaign in 2021-22. He recently signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Wild that takes effect in the 2024-25 season, the contract has an average annual value of $4,000,000.



Hartman was recently suspended two games for slew-footing Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat. Hartman has been previously suspended twice, as well as been fined seven times by the league.



The Hilton Head Island, South Carolina native was initially selected in the first round, No. 30 overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2013 NHL Draft. Hartman spent his draft year in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the now-defunct, Plymouth Whalers, where he notched 60 points in 56 games and was named to the CHL Top Prospects Game. Hartman captured a gold medal at the World Juniors with the United States that same season. Across 10 NHL seasons with the Wild, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Nashville Predators and the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartman has 118 goals, 132 assists and 248 points in 536 career games.



The Wild are set to face off against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.
