Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov named top-rated left winger in EA Sports NHL 27

One of the most dynamic players in the game today is being recognized in the virtual world.
On Tuesday, EA Sports released the forward ratings for EA Sports NHL 27. At the top of the list of left-wingers is Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov.
It’s the second year in a row that the Russian star is the highest-ranked player at his position. He was No. 2 among LWs in NHL 25, trailing then-Colorado Avalanche scorer Mikko Rantanen.
Kaprizov clocks in at a 94 overall for the second year in a row, two points ahead of both Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson and Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor. Wild teammate Matt Boldy (91) and Los Angeles Kings sniper Artemi Panarin (91) round out the top five left-wingers for this year’s game. Matthew Tkachuk (Florida Panthers), Brandon Hagel (Tampa Bay Lightning), Jake Guentzel (Lightning), Jesper Bratt (New Jersey Devils) and Filip Forsberg (Nashville Predators) are also in the top 10 at LW.
While Kaprizov is considered the best player at his position in the game, that doesn’t mean he’s the top forward in NHL 27. He’s tied for 12th among front-facing players, alongside Rantanen (Stars), Jack Eichel (Vegas Golden Knights) and Jack Hughes (Devils).
The 29-year-old might not be scoring at the same clip that led to his incredible 108-point performance in 2021-22, but he’s still one of the best hockey has to offer. He’s averaged a point per game in all but one of his six NHL seasons, including posting 89 points in 78 games in 2025-26, helping the Wild finish third in the Central Division. His 15 playoff points helped Minnesota reach the second round, ultimately losing to the Avalanche.
Deluxe early access for NHL 27 is scheduled for Sept. 4, with the standard edition becoming available on Sept. 11.
