The Minnesota Wild announced two transactions on Wednesday, placing defenseman Jonas Brodin on injured reserve and recalling defenseman Carson Lambos from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Brodin has missed the team’s last three games after suffering a lower-body injury during their Dec. 11 contest against the Dallas Stars. Wild head coach John Hynes said over the weekend that he would be out for a “couple of days.”

“I don’t think it’s more than a week,” he told reporters after Minnesota’s 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

In 30 games this season, Brodin has three goals and six assists for nine points, averaging 22:05 of ice time. Now in his 14th NHL campaign, the 32-year-old Swedish native has 61 goals and 208 assists for 269 points in 883 career regular-season games, averaging 22:15 of ice time.

He’s also played in 73 Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring twice and adding 15 assists for 17 points.

As for Lambos, a 2021 first-round pick for the Wild, he has two goals and three assists for five points and 22 penalty minutes in 26 games with Iowa this season. Over three AHL seasons, the Winnipeg native has 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points and 129 penalty minutes in 163 regular-season games.

Across five junior season in the Western Hockey League, Lambos scored 31 goals and 97 assists for 128 points in 176 career regular-season games with the Kootenay/Winnipeg Ice.

Internationally, Lambos represented Canada at the 2022 World Junior Championship.

Lambos could make his NHL debut for the Wild Thursday night when they travel to Ohio to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET.
