Canadiens’ Texier out day-to-day with lower-body injury, Dach returns to lineup

A couple of roster adjustments for the Montreal Canadiens, including the return of one of the team’s young stars.
On Tuesday, the team announced that forward Alexandre Texier is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
L'attaquant Alexandre Texier est blessé au bas du corps et est évalué quotidiennement. Forward Alexandre Texier is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
However, there is some good news in la belle province, as forward Kirby Dach has been activated from long-term injured reserve and will be returning to the lineup on Tuesday night when the team takes on the Minnesota Wild at the Bell Centre.
The team didn’t specify how Texier was hurt. He played in the Habs’ 6-5 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators this past Saturday night, playing less than 13 minutes in the game. The Frenchman has been a very important piece in the Canadiens’ run near the top of the Atlantic Division. After his contract with the St. Louis Blues was terminated, he signed with Montreal for the rest of the season.
In 27 games, Texier has scored seven goals and nine assists for 16 points, earning him a two-year contract extension last week. The 26-year-old is set to represent his country at the 2026 Winter Olympics and is expected to be a key player if France remains competitive in Milan.
Dach suffered a fractured ankle in mid-November in a game against the Dallas Stars. He has been on long-term injured reserve for the past month. The 24-year-old also suffered a lower-body injury earlier this season, with the two ailments leading him to play just 15 games so far. He has scored five goals and two assists for seven points.
The Canadiens (27-15-7) come into Tuesday night third in the Atlantic, three points back of first place.
