The Montreal Canadiens have announced that forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard is out 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury. In addition, the team announced that defenseman Jordan Harris is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and defenseman Kaiden Guhle is still being evaluated.

Harvey-Pinard left the Canadiens’ Saturday game against the Dallas Stars early due to an injury he suffered on a fluke play. During a routine play on the ice, Harvey-Pinard collided with fellow Canadiens’ player Joel Armia and went down awkwardly. He left the game shortly after and did not return. This is the third time this season that Harvey-Pinard has missed time with injuries.

Through 24 games played this season, Harvey-Pinard has scored one goal and seven points, along with six penalty minutes and an even +0 rating. His play this season has been a far cry from last year when he put up 14 goals and 20 points in 34 games as a rookie. This is likely due to his recent injury history and the team hopes he’ll have a full recovery from this current injury.

There is a chance this was a concussion-related injury and those are always unpredictable. And with the Canadiens’ far out of the playoff picture, they shouldn’t try to rush Harvey-Pinard back into the lineup.

Harris hasn’t played since January 27th and is nearing a return back to the lineup. He’s carved out a nice role for himself as a future defensive staple for the Canadiens.

Guhle finished the Saturday game versus the Stars but sustained an injury at some point and is currently being evaluated for that.
