The Montreal Canadiens announced that Kirby Dach has an upper-body injury and will not dress tonight versus Philadelphia Flyers.

Dach played last night against the Buffalo Sabres, logging three shots, one hit, and one block in 22:29 of ice time. Dach held a faceoff percentage of 16.7%. This season, the Fort Saskatchewan, product, has notched a career-high 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 58 games. The 22-year-old recently returned after missing 16 games with a lower-body injury that he sustained against his former team the Chicago Blackhawks back in February putting a pause on his best NHL season to date.

He was acquired from the Canadiens by the Blackhawks at the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal. The host team made a big splash by sending a first-round (No. 13) and a third-round (No. 66) pick to the Blackhawks for the former 2019 third-overall selection. Dach signed a four-year, $13,450,000 extension with the Canadiens last fall; the contract has a cap hit of $3,362,500 and runs through 2025-26.

Additionally, the Canadiens announced that forward Chris Tierney will be dressed tonight in Dach’s absence. Tierney was initially healthy scratched as Canadiens rookie Sean Farrell gets set to make his National Hockey League debut tonight against the Flyers after a crushing end to a great season in Harvard. Tierney has six points in 16 games this season with the Canadiens since being picked up off waivers from the Florida Panthers last month. He notched three points in 13 games in Florida, while also scoring 16 points in 20 games with the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League.
