The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Jeremy Lauzon from the Seattle Kraken.

In return, the Kraken continue to stock up on draft picks, receiving a 2022 second-rounder, as reported by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.

Lauzon, an RFA at the end of this season, was selected by the Kraken in the expansion draft from the Boston Bruins, and the 6-foot-1, 204-pound rearguard has appeared in 53 games this year. He’s totalled one goal and six points in those matches.

With him on the ice at 5-on-5, the Kraken controlled 46.32 percent of the shot attempts, 40 percent of the goals scored and 45.6 percent of the expected goals. Much like other Kraken players, he has a deflated PDO largely in part due to a horrible on-ice save percentage. Lauzon’s sits at 89.6, meaning there’s much room to improve on a more defensively sound team like the Predators.

Meanwhile, Seattle’s draft cupboards are continuing to fill. The Kraken now have three additional second-round picks in the 2022 draft which all have been acquired in recent days: one in the Calle Jarnkrok trade, one in the Mark Giordano trade and now another in the Lauzon trade.

Lauzon carries a $850,000 cap hit.
