— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) July 9, 2022Forsberg, 27, joined the Predators in a 2013 trade that saw the Washington Capitals get back Martin Erat in the deal. His rookie year in Nashville came in the 2014-15 season when he broke into the league scoring 26 goals and 63 points in 82 games landing a spot on the all-rookie team.
And ever since then, all Forsberg has done is produce. Over the course of his 10 seasons in Nashville, he’s scored 220 goals and 469 points in 566 games. This past season he took over 1st place in the Predators all-time scoring list, passing David Legwand’s 210.
Forsberg also finds himself close behind in the Pred’s all-time scoring list sitting 97 points back of Legwand. He currently sits fourth on the list behind Martin Erat (481 points), Roman Josi (542) and Legwand (566).
Rumors had swirled earlier in the season about what the future might hold for Forsberg, but GM David Poile opted to keep him, instead of looking to trade him at the NHL’s Trade Deadline. That move has paid dividends, and now, Forsberg is one step closer to spending his whole career in the Music City.
