Report: Predators to sign Luke Evangelista to two-year contract

The Nashville Predators and Luke Evangelista have agreed to terms on a two-year, $6 million deal that will pay him an annual average value (AAV) of $3 million, according to TSN hockey insider Chris Johnston.

The first to report news of an imminent signing was his TSN colleague Darren Dreger.

In 2024-25, Evangelista, 23, finished with 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points in 68 regular-season games with the Predators. Through three NHL seasons, the Toronto native has 33 goals and 53 assists for 86 points in 172 career regular-season games.
He’s also appeared in six Stanley Cup Playoff goals, scoring one goal.
Taken in the second round by Nashville in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Evangelista spent 49 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL in 2022-23, scoring nine goals and 32 assists for 41 points.
Before turning professional, the six-foot-tall winger spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the London Knights. His best season came in 2021-22, scoring 55 goals and 56 assists for 111 points in 62 regular-season games. Through three seasons, he recorded 78 goals and 94 assists for 172 points in 151 regular-season games.
The Predators finished the 2024-25 campaign with a 30-44-8 record and 68 points, placing seventh in the Central Division and third-last in both the Western Conference and NHL. Forward Filip Forsberg led the team in all offensive categories with 31 goals and 45 assists for 76 points.
