New Jersey had been carrying just six defensemen on their active roster. The recall of Edwards gives them an extra blueliner for the remaining three games of their five-game road trip.
Glass was forced to leave last Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime win against the Chicago Blackhawks after losing his balance on the forecheck and colliding into the end boards.

— BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) November 13, 2025This will be the Winnipeg native’s second stint on IR this season, as he missed seven games with an upper-body injury prior to returning against the Montreal Canadiens on November 6th. In 10 games played so far, Glass has three goals and no assists in just a tick under 12 minutes of ice time per game.
The Devils acquired Glass from the Pittsburgh Penguins at last season’s trade deadline, getting him and forward Jonathan Gruden in exchange for forward Chase Stillman, prospect Max Graham, and a third-round pick. Glass, 27, has the distinction of being the Vegas Golden Knights‘ first ever pick in the NHL Entry Draft, as he was taken sixth overall by the team in 2017. Glass had a sterling junior career with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL, where he peaked with a remarkable 2017-18 season in which he scored 37 goals and added 65 assists for 102 points in 64 games.
Edwards was New Jersey’s fourth-round draft pick in 2020. The Grand Prairie, Alberta native has played 13 games with Utica this season, registering a goal and four assists for five points. The 23-year-old defenseman played 10 games for Utica towards the end of last season as well, putting up three assists, after a four-year career with the University of Michigan.
