New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes is set to miss the next five weeks recovering from a dislocated shoulder, the club announced Friday.

Hughes, 20, met with Devils head orthopedic surgeon and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jonathan L. Glashow for a one week re-evaluation where it was determined his shoulder was stable with no unforeseen issues, the club added.

Adjustments may be made accordingly depending on progress, the team said.

Hughes was placed on the injured reserve on Oct. 21 after injuring the shoulder two days prior. He suffered the injury against the Seattle Kraken when defenseman Jeremy Lauzon rode him hard into the boards.

He appeared in just two games this year, but scored two goals and an assist.
