Head coach Sheldon Keefe’s crew with the New Jersey Devils is getting an overhaul.

On Wednesday, the Devils announced four new additions to their coaching and development staff.

Leo Luongo has been named as the team’s director of goaltending. Ted Donato and A.J. MacLean will be assistant coaches under Keefe, while Dan Stewart will complete Keefe’s staff as the team’s goaltending coach.

Leo Luongo, 41, will manage the development and scouting of goaltenders throughout the organization while reporting to executive vice president of hockey operations Martin Brodeur. He had spent the past 10 seasons with the Florida Panthers‘ organization, most recently serving as the director of goaltending with Florida’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Charlotte Checkers. He has also served as the Panthers’ director of player development, goaltending development coach, AHL goaltending coach and video coach throughout his time with Florida. He is the brother of Hall of Fame goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Donato, 57, comes to the Devils after spending the last 22 years as the head coach of Harvard University’s men’s hockey team, where his 334 career wins is most all-time in the program’s history. He was also the assistant coach for the gold medal-winning United States team at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.

MacLean, 42, spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning‘s AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies for eight seasons, including when they won the Calder Cup in 2018 as AHL champions.

Stewart, 50, spent the last six season with the St. Louis Blues organization, serving as the team’s goaltending development coach and as the goaltending coach of the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds.

These new hires will replace last season’s staff, which included Jeremy Colliton, Brad Shaw, and Sergei Brylin as assistant coaches and Dave Rogalski as the goaltending coach.
