Devils’ Stefan Noesen to return against Wild; Juho Lammikko placed on IR

The New Jersey Devils will welcome some veteran grit back into their lineup Wednesday, as the team announced that forward Stefan Noesen has been activated from injured reserve and will draw into the lineup against the Minnesota Wild.

The Devils attended to another couple pieces of business as well. Forward Juho Lakkimmo was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, while defenseman Seamus Casey was activated from injured reserve and assigned to the Utica Comets of the AHL.
Noesen is in the second season of a three-year, $8,250,000 contract with New Jersey. The Plano, Texas native is on his second stint with the Devils, as he played two and half seasons in New Jersey after being claimed off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks during the 2016-17 season. The journeyman has played for five different teams over the course of his career.
Despite being drafted in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators back in 2011, Noesen had his career-best offensive year just last season. In 78 games played, the former Plymouth Whaler tallied 22 goals and 19 assists for 41 total points, averaging just shy of 16 minutes of ice time per game.
As for Lakkimmo, he has yet to make his NHL debut after playing the last three season for Zurich SC in Switzerland, where he was a Swiss National League champion each of the last two years.
Casey hasn’t played for the Devils yet this season, but the former Michigan Wolverine played 14 gamed for New Jersey last year, registering four goals and four assist. He spent most of last season in Utica, where he tallied three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 30 games.
The Devils begin a three-game homestand with Wednesday’s game against the Wild, followed by Friday’s game against the San Jose Sharks and then a Sunday matinee against the Colorado Avalanche.
