Dylan Garand will make his NHL debut on Sunday as the New York Rangers host the Winnipeg Jets at Madison Square Garden.

The 23-year-old goaltender has spent the last four seasons in the American Hockey League with the Rangers’ AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. In 36 games this season, Garand is 16-15-2 with an .896 save percentage (SV%) and 2.83 goals against average (GAA).

Through parts of five AHL seasons, Garand is 65-57-19 with a .901 SV% and 2.90 GAA in 148 career regular-season games. He was named an AHL All-Star for the 2024-25 season.

He’s also appeared in 17 AHL Calder Cup Playoff games, where he’s posted a 10-7-0 record and a .927 SV% with a 2.21 GAA.

Garand, taken in the fourth round by the Rangers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, spent parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers. His best season came in 2021-22, where he posted a 34-9-1 record with a .925 SV% and 2.16 GAA in 45 games. That year, he was named both the WHL Top Goaltender, as well as the Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Year.

In five WHL seasons, Garand went 89-31-7 with a .918 SV% and 2.34 GAA in 135 career regular-season games. He also went 11-7-1 with a .927 SV% and 2.08 in 20 career WHL playoff games.

A native of Victoria, B.C., Garand also represented Canada twice at the World Junior Championships, helping his country earn silver in 2021 and gold in 2022.

The Rangers are 28-33-8 with 64 points in 69 games in 2025-26. They are last in both the Metropolitan Division and Eastern Conference, and 29th in the NHL.
