On Monday, the New York Rangers revealed further details about their plans to commemorate the team’s centennial season, including several theme nights to look back on the franchise’s different eras.

“We are looking forward to the celebration of the Rangers Centennial season – one that will be truly unforgettable for our fans and honors the Rangers’ storied history,” MSG Sports Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James Dolan said via the team’s press release. “This is a special opportunity to recognize the great moments, players, and so much more that has brought us all together for a century of Rangers hockey.”

The theme nights are scheduled as follows:

  • October 20 – Birth of the Franchise (1926-1942)
  • November 8 – Milestones and Moments
  • November 16 – Original Six Era (1942-1967)
  • December 13 – The New Garden (1967-1991)
  • January 8 – Fan Favorites
  • January 26 – Legendary Blueshirts (1991-2004)
  • February 5 – Goaltenders
  • March 5 – Modern Era (2004-present)

“The Centennial season promises to be a special year for everyone associated with the New York Rangers – the players, front office, staff, and, of course, our loyal and passionate fans,” Rangers general manager Chris Drury said. “Wearing the Rangers uniform is an honor and privilege unlike any other in the National Hockey League, and that is because of the legacy that has been created here over 100 years. We all can’t wait to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime season.”

The organization previously unveiled its centennial logo, which is a rounded crest shield in the original shape from 1926. The logo will adorn center ice at Madison Square Garden throughout the season, and the club is still yet to unveil its centennial jersey. Another Original Six team in the Detroit Red Wings unveiled their centennial jersey on Monday, as both they and the Chicago Blackhawks are also celebrating their 100th season in the NHL this year.
