The New York Rangers signed forward Brendan Brisson to a one-year, two-way contract on Sunday, according to PuckPedia.

PuckPedia reported that Brisson would earn $775,000 at the NHL level, $100,000 in the minors and a guaranteed $125,000.

Brisson spent most of the 2024-25 season in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights and Hartford Wolf Pack, scoring seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 61 regular-season games. He also appeared in nine NHL games with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Brisson, 23, was acquired by the Rangers, along with a third-round pick, ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline as the Golden Knights traded for Reilly Smith.

In four AHL seasons, Brisson has 47 goals and 61 assists for 108 points in 178 career regular-season games with the Wolf Pack and Silver Knights. In 24 career NHL games, all with the Golden Knights, he’s scored two goals and six assists for eight points.

Brisson, a native of Los Angeles, was taken by Vegas in the first round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut in 2022 after two seasons of NCAA college hockey at the University of Michigan, scoring 31 goals and 32 assists for 63 points in 62 career games.

In 2024-25, the Rangers went 39-36-7 with 85 points, fifth in the Metropolitan Division. They were six points out from the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020-21.

Artemi Panarin led the team in all offensive categories, finishing with 37 goals and 52 assists for 89 points. Defenseman Adam Fox, who led the team in ice time, averaging 23:14, recorded 10 goals and 51 assists for 61 points.

Two days after the final game of the regular season, New York fired head coach Peter Laviolette after just two seasons behind the bench. Less than two weeks later, Mike Sullivan was named the 38th head coach in Rangers’ history.
